Take a practical look at the role of Project Engineers, core responsibilities, and their role in successful project outcomes.

Session 2 – Early Project Requirements  Thurs, Jan 23, 2025, 1230PM – 430PM PT | 10:30AM - 2:30PM HST

Plans – Specs – Submittals. Learn the systematic approach to early issue identification through proper review of the project documents.

Session 3 – Scope & Contracts  Thurs, Jan 30, 2025, 1230PM – 430PM PT | 10:30AM - 2:30PM HST

Focus on a discussion surrounding the process of developing the scope of work as it relates to both the project as a whole and individual trades and subcontractors.

Session 4 – Project Communication and Documentation  Thu, Feb 6, 2025, 1230PM – 430PM PT | 10:30AM - 2:30PM HST

Join in hands-on learning exercises focused on writing, sending, receiving, understanding, and responding to normal communication mediums and protocol on typical construction projects.

Session 5 – Buy-Out & Change Order Management  Thurs, Feb 13, 2025, 1230PM – 430PM PT | 10:30AM - 2:30PM HST

Participate in a roundtable discussion and overview of subcontracting, purchase orders, and change management processes.

Session 6 – Cost Tracking and Earned Value Management  Thurs, Feb 13, 2025, 1230PM – 430PM PT | 10:30AM - 2:30PM HST

Learn about the project budget process, including industry-standard practices for tracking job costs at both the GC and Subcontractor levels.

Session 7 – Progress Billings, Releases & Insurance  Thurs, Feb 20, 2025, 1230PM – 430PM PT | 10:30AM - 2:30PM HST

Master the practices of processing pay applications and the invoice cycle will be demonstrated, including a discussion of lien releases and insurance certification requirements.

Session 8 – Habits of a Complete Project Enginee Thurs, Feb 20, 2025, 1230PM – 430PM PT | 10:30AM - 2:30PM HST

Practice what the best Project Engineers know and do. This session takes a practical look at intangible traits, characteristics, and habits that can be learned and practiced to facilitate project success with hands-on exercises.

About the Instructor                                                                                

Paul Stout, Director of Education Development (Power Summit)

Paul is the founder and Director of Education Development for Power Summit a national training company. His understanding of the construction process, vast experience and dynamic presentation skills enables him to write and present seminar material with authority and conviction. Paul Stout is a construction project manager, estimator, LEED Accredited Professional, facilitator and seminar instructor bringing more than twenty-three years of practical, hands-on construction experience to the arena. Since 1999, Paul has presented or facilitated more than 500 construction training seminars and workshops in 60 US cities spanning 22 states and internationally in Guam and Djibouti.
