About the Course

Lean Construction is driven to minimize costs and maximize value on each project completed, challenging all stakeholders to develop and apply better ways to manage the overall construction process. 

AGC Edge Lean Construction Education Program is designed to educate construction professionals at all experience levels to develop the tools needed to build lean. The highly interactive virtual program provides instruction via Zoom and training to prepare construction industry professionals at all levels to learn the building blocks necessary to transform their projects and companies into a lean operating system. 

After participants complete all seven units in the program, they become eligible to sit for an exam to earn the Certificate of Management – Lean Construction (CM-Lean).

These seven units build on each other to progressively cover a range of topics essential to Lean Construction, including:

⦁    Variation and pull in production
⦁    Lean Workstructuring, supply chains, and assembly
⦁    Production management
⦁    Management by values
⦁    Problem-solving principles and tools

Unit 4 – The Last Planner® System
Unit 5 – Lean Supply Chain and Assembly
Unit 6 – Lean Design and Pre-construction
Unit 7 – Problem-solving Principles and Tools

LCEP Learning Objectives

Courses will be offered online via the Zoom platform, a webcam is required for participation. Registration costs include all course participant’s materials.

Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from January 17th to March 2nd from 1 PM – 4 PM ET | 10 AM – 1 PM PT.

Meet Your Course Instructor:

Colin Milberg | Ph.D. 

Principal

Colin has over 20 years of construction management experience in both the office and the field, combined with seven years of university teaching experience in construction engineering and management. Colin has worked with public and private organizations on projects ranging from $2 million to $1 billion, assisting project teams and organizations in implementing Lean Construction and Enterprise practices. Colin has a Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley, where he studied Lean Construction and tolerance management with the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) founders. In addition, Colin co-founded LCI San Diego and LCI Southern New England, was on the core group for LCI New England, and was a member of the International Group for Lean Construction advisory board. 

Pricing

Cost for the program is $2,450.00 for GCA members and $3,425.00 for non-members. Includes all course participant’s manuals.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given to cancellations made 14 calendar days prior to the class kick-off. After such time, no refunds will be given. Replacements are acceptable and must be submitted via email to rockkie.dunton@agc.org.

AGC reserves the right to cancel programs up to 10 days prior to the start date if a minimum number of attendees is not met.
