AMANDA CANADA
Publisher, Building Industry Hawaii

Amanda Canada has been with Trade Media Hui for five years publishing over 20 local trade magazines each year, including 12 dedicated to Hawaii’s construction industry. Amanda also worked for Hawaii News Now, ran her own copywriting business, served as a contracted editor for the US Department of Environment, and authored 32 published short stories in historical fiction. Active in many industry organizations, Amanda serves on the board of Hawaii Publishers Association and is President-Elect of the National Women in Construction Association, Hawaii chapter. Mother of three, Amanda plays soccer, softball and football, and coached youth soccer for 18 years.
 

JASON GENEGABUS
Senior Editor, Building Industry Hawaii

Jason Genegabus joined Trade Media Hui as Senior Editor earlier this year after 22-plus years in the newsroom at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, where he was a reporter, columnist and Entertainment Editor of the paper's entertainment website, honolulupulse.com. He has extensive experience in multimedia, social media and publicity, and also serves as a lecturer in communications, public speaking and podcasting at Hawaii Pacific University.
 

BRETT ALEXANDER-ESTES
Associate Editor, Building Industry Hawaii

Brett Alexander-Estes, Building Industry Hawaii Associate Editor, has nearly 11 years of journalism experience, including covering Hawaii construction for the last nine years at Building Industry Hawaii. Her previous journalism and editing experience include articles and reports for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, the Hawaii State Legislature and the American Bar Association.
 

PAULA BENDER
Associate Editor, Building Industry Hawaii

Paula Bender has lived in Hawaiʻi since 1981 and was a staff writer at The Honolulu Advertiser and Pacific Business News. While raising her two daughters she was a freelancer, worked at Oceanic Institute as an editor and webmaster, and most recently was a communications specialist at the John A. Burns School of Medicine for the first two years of COVID. Paula is a road cyclist who rides about 100 miles a week - for fun!
