Introduction to Construction Accounting
Thursday, October 29, 2026 (8:00 AM - 11:30 AM) (HST)
Description
This introductory course is designed for individuals with limited experience who are new to business, the construction industry, or accounting. Participants will build a foundation in basic business and accounting concepts while learning how these principles apply to the operations of a construction company.
The course will introduce the role accounting plays in organizing financial information, understanding business performance, and supporting informed decisions. It will explore broader business issues affecting construction companies, as well as accounting considerations specific to construction, including project costs, billing, and cash flow.
Participants will gain a better understanding of common accounting terminology, the relationship between project activities and financial results, and the importance of accurate records. The course will also help participants communicate more effectively with accounting staff and recognize how their daily responsibilities contribute to a company’s financial performance.
No prior accounting experience is required. This course is ideal for entry-level employees, administrative and office staff, new business owners, and construction professionals seeking an introduction to the financial side of the industry.
