Microsoft Copilot 101: Getting Real Value from AI

Microsoft Copilot 101: Getting Real Value from AI

Tuesday, October 20, 2026 (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) (HST)

Description

This introductory, hands-on session is designed for construction professionals who have access to Microsoft Copilot – the AI assistant included with many Microsoft 365 subscriptions – but are still learning how to use it effectively. No prior AI experience is required. Participants will learn the fundamentals of generative AI, how to write stronger prompts, and how Copilot can support everyday work across a variety of roles in the construction industry.

Through practical demonstrations and guided exercises, attendees will explore real-world examples such as drafting RFIs and subcontractor communications, summarizing meeting notes and lengthy documents, creating first drafts of scopes of work and change order narratives, organizing project information, and preparing client or internal communications. The session will also cover Copilot's current limitations, the responsible handling of company and project information, and practical strategies for using AI to save time, improve communication, and increase productivity. Examples and exercises will be tailored to the audience, ensuring attendees leave with practical skills they can begin applying immediately.
